Hi Frances, Thank you so much for reading Nami’s post and trying her recipe.
Because uncooked brown rice is difficult to digest, some people may experience stomach pain.
You may fix it by adding extra water and cooking it longer, or use the microwave.
We hope this helps!

Hi Dene, Thank you for taking the time to test Nami’s recipe!
The ratio of 200 mL water to 160 mL rice yields softer rice.
If your rice volume is 160 mL, your water volume should be around 180 mL (160 mL x 1.1 = 176 mL).
Rice:Water = 1:1.1
But, as Nami indicated in the note, the rice-water ratio, cooking time, and heat level vary according to the type of cooktop, the type/age of rice, and the season of the year. Please modify it to your liking.
We hope this was useful!

At present the recipe says the same volume of water regardless which rice cup you use. For example on my screen i see

2 Rice Cooker Cups
▢ 2 rice cooker cups brown rice (180 ml x 2 = 360 ml; 160 g x 2 = 320 g)
▢ 400 ml water

I’m going to try 200ml per 160ml of rice for now but wondering what difference it will make if the ratio is wrong?

Thanks for the great instant pot recipes!5 stars
